So 15% of 2019 has already gone and you probably started your New Years resolutions but have already given up or you might be one of those people who are still chasing those 2019 goals but you just haven’t found the right time to start. Some of you started your goals and are still chipping away at them bit by bit or maybe have already fulfilled what you set our to achieve.
The only difference between the first group of people and the second group of people is one group took some sort of action to make it happen. But don’t stress because that quote of “every day is a new day to start again” is perfectly true provided you actually don’t say it every day for 365 days !!
While I have recently completed one of my 2019 goals to compete in a 70.3 Triathlon and I am slowly working toward some other business, personal and health goals I have found in the last couple of weeks that I have been floundering and unfocused. I have also let myself be affected by outside circumstances and my own self-doubt. For me that leads to feeling busy all the time but not necessarily feeling like I have accomplished things. I have a never ending list of jobs to do and while I mark off a couple of tasks every day, more seem to accumulate the next day and things that should be my priority become my procrastination. Sound familiar ?
So this week has been the time for me to reset and refocus on what I really want from my life and what I need to do to make that happen. Yesterday I attended the Entrepreneurial Summit with my mentor Aaron Sansoni and the incredible Janine Allis of Juice Boost franchises. Surrounding myself with people who are both supportive and inspiring is exactly what I needed to get myself back on track. It has made me reflect on both my purpose and my passion. Ultimately these are things that are going to fill that little void of within me; that little voice that says something is missing. Because the reality is nothing outside of us is going to be the answer to our happiness. More money, more muscles, less weight and more shoes can only satisfy us for a period of time and ultimately our happiness is going to come back to how we feel about our self. Are we grateful for everything we already have and are we doing things that truly make us happy.
So if any of you can relate to this blog then NOW is the time to take some Action. It doesn’t have to be anything big but it does have to be more than a thought or a picture on a vision board. Often our biggest obstacle is our own fears of failure or fears of success, but you have the ability to overcome that if the reason you want to achieve your goal is greater than your fear. So press the reset button and discover your reason, your purpose, your passion !
